Information Savvy—A Key Component for Successful Small Business Startup & Survival
Linda Halliburton
Small Business Librarian
Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County
Individuals often come to the Central Library’s Business & Social Sciences Division with a small business idea. They may have little information on feasibility, market research, financing and other issues that must be researched before a successful business launch.
The Division has information tools, data sources and knowledgeable librarians to assist with business research. The Division’s Small Business Resource Center has over 700 books on small business topics. SCORE counselors and clients can contact Division librarians by phone, email or walking-in to request help in finding business information.
Small Business Librarian Linda Halliburton discussed the extensive business information sources available at the Central Library including the Small Business Resource Center, the Patent & Trademark Center and the Grants Information Center.
