Operating a Small Business
On Tuesday evenings, April 26th, May 3rd, May 10th, May 17th and May 24th, 2005, SCORE Chapter 23, the US Small Business Administration and Greece Central School District Community Education will present a course, Operating a Small Business, at Olympia High School, 1139 Maiden Lane, Greece, NY from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The series will address business planning, obtaining funds, operations, marketing, accounting, banking and legal - lots of practical applications and opportunities for discussion.

Starting and Operating a Home Based Business
On Wednesday, April 27, 2005, SCORE and the US Small Business Administration will present a workshop entitled Starting and Operating a Home Based Business at the Federal Building in Conference Room B0340, 100 State Street, Rochester, NY from 8:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The program includes information on organizing your home based business, marketing, networking and tax issues.
The presenters will be people from the business community and the NYS Tax Department.

The series will address business planning, budgeting and cash management, insurance and legal considerations, marketing and finance.

Need Help in Starting a Small Business?
The Rush-Henrietta High School Continuing Education Department, SCORE and the US Small Business Administration and will present a course, Starting and Operating Your Own Business, at the Rush-Henrietta High School, 1799 Lehigh Station Road, Henrietta from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The series will run on Monday evenings, from April 25th, May 2nd, May 9th and May 16th, 2005.

New SCORE Program
The Rochester chapter of SCORE is adding a new free and confidential counseling program to assist existing small businesses in this area. The program is called ACTIVE (Advanced Counseling To Improve Venture Effectiveness) It offers free on-site counseling by a team of professional SCORE counselors to assist with identifying and dealing with the business issues pertinent to the company they are assisting. SCORE serves as counselors to America’s small business, and is a resource partner with the Small Business Administration.
